Vještica kao anti-majka: psihoanalitička interpretacija zapisnika suđenja

Author(s): Nataša Polgar / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 2/2015

The article analyzes the records from witch trials which took place in Northwestern Croatia from the late 17th century until the mid 18th century, identifying their underlying thorny issue i.e. the relationship towards the body and physicality. The analysis of trial statements, seen as women's personal narratives about their lives, fears, projections and phantasms, shows that the anxieties related to the manifestations of the body spring from the psychological structure of subjectivity.

PSYCHOANALIZA I KULTURA. RICOEUROWSKIE ODCZYTANIE FREUDA

PSYCHOANALIZA I KULTURA. RICOEUROWSKIE ODCZYTANIE FREUDA

Author(s): Marta Węgrzyn / Language(s): Polish Issue: 33/2016

The subject of “Psychoanalysis and culture” is one of the three main topic lines Ricoeur moves in his essays on Freud. Ricoeur takes the intellectual challenge of comprehensive interpretation of the Freud’s work and shows his subtle understanding of Freud’s philosophical views. Ricouer tries his best to translate the language of psychoanalysis into philosophy. At the same time he’s aware that psychoanalysis is a profound challenge for someone who previously dealt with phenomenology, existential philosophy and language sciences. Ricoeur sets himself reflective context within his moves. He sets a basis on Freudian interpretations and analysis of art, cultural and psychic phenomena. Ricouer proposes to take research on psychoanalysis in relation to the hermeneutic tradition, and more specifically, the hermeneutic conception of meaning. However Freud in his work often deals with the meaning of dreams, slips or neurotic symptoms. Such understanding of psychoanalysis allows for a deeper interpretation of human internal states, it also interprets the signs wielding a mental life. So how does look and what is the project of hermeneutic interpretation of psychoanalysis? What is the place of psychoanalysis in the culture movement?

Author(s): Gürsen Topses / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 74/2013

This study is a literature review on the philosophical and psychological aspects of self-acceptance and defensive behaviors, which are of great importance in psychological health problems. The article also focusing on the two concepts’ philosophical origins and the implications of the psychological behavior summarizes the process of validity and reliability in the researches on self-concept and defensive behavior. The study examining in particular the defensive behavior in relation to the concept of alienation which is a part of the philosophy of existentialism, attempts to solve the problems created by defensive behavior among individuals. In addition, defensive behavior and the elements preventing the interpersonal communication will be investigated. The concepts of facing the reality and accepting the reality as the main parts of self-acceptance have been among the topics that existentialist philosophy, psychoanalysis, and humanistic psychology try to study. These theories giving some examples about some articles of the questionnaires about facing the reality and self-accepting and defensive behavioral as their opposite concept summarizes studies on the validity and reliability. Thus, the study depicting the individual as “accepting the self as the reality”, focuses on the relationship of “self-actualization stated by humanistic psychology and “existence precedes essence” pointed by the existential philosophy and the theory of psychology as the basic indicators of psychological health.

Seksualno (ni) je političko

Seksualno (ni) je političko

Author(s): Slavoj Žižek / Language(s): Bosnian Issue: 25/2017

Archetipas Muzikologijos Akiratyje

Archetipas Muzikologijos Akiratyje

Author(s): Jūratė Landsbergyte / Language(s): Lithuanian Issue: 77/2013

The archetype rises in the philosophical ideas of the XX c. as an especially important paradigmatic dimensional connection of the past, nowadays and future. According to I. Froud and C. G. Jung’s theories of psychoanalysis, and especially the influence of depth psychology on the creation of art, the conception of archetype is more often evoked in art study. It helps to go deeper into the motivation and into the resources of the creation of artistic ideas. It opens the depth of their archaeological layers. Musicology here has got many possibilities: to look at the archetype as a universal, the model of the process of world formation (Karbusicky, Mache), to look from the perspective of psychoanalytical “archaetology“ – as the symbol of myth, dramatic gesture of the turn of the history of humanity, the signal of the rise (Maché, Kutavičius), as the demiurge of nature, cosmos and human processes and as the model of musical dramaturgy – canon, “eternal circle“, from the repetitions of which there begins the universal sequence of the fluctuation, the paradigm of creation (Kutavičius, Pärt).

Subjekto Paieškos Jacqueso Lacano Veidrodžių Karalystėje

Author(s): Stanislovas Mostauskis / Language(s): Lithuanian Issue: 73/2012

The article analyzes the conception of mirror stage offered by Lacan. The conception originally interprets a particular stage of early development of the individual. The article proposes the viewpoint that the subject which is established during the stage of mirror is understood as a gap between involuntary identifications through human gestalt, which is implemented by the functions of imagination. An infant in his environment begins to distinguish the human shape as Other, simultaneously perceiving in reference to himself. Thus gestalt of the Other becomes an exemplary form of identification which determines identity instability of the individual. He can meet himself only through intermediary images of the Other, an identification substitute which hides him from himself. The conclusion made in accordance with the article is as follows: the individual offered by Lacan is a mandatory alignment structure which shackles the Ego with the Other. This alignment ensures their constant proximity but at the same time avoids their convergence.

Sigmundas Freudas Ir Indija: Teorinës Ir Kultûrinës Psichoanalizës Transformacijos

Sigmundas Freudas Ir Indija: Teorinës Ir Kultûrinës Psichoanalizës Transformacijos

Author(s): Audrius Beinorius / Language(s): Lithuanian Issue: 60/2009

The question analyzed in this paper is: Is psychoanalysis at all possible in a traditional non-Western society with its different family system, religious beliefs and cultural values? The current sharp increase in scepticism about the transcultural validity of psychoanalysis correlates with the rise of relativism in human sciences. S. Freud was not ready for an intercultural dialogue. He insisted on a one-sided monologue. Through Freud took little interest in India, India took an early interest in Freud. I show that psychoanalysis as a therapeutic method and as a cultural theory was not easily received in Indian culture with its rich philosophical and scientific traditions and religious beliefs. To this day, the focus of analysis on individual patients has deflected the attention of analysts from the cultural assumptions built into psychoanalytic theory as well as from the shared cultural characteristics of psychoanalytic patients. I conclude that traditional psychoanalytic theory has been too bound up with Western individalism to take seriously the centrality of the group in the construction of Hindu forms of consciousness and self. Psychoanalysts must stop judging Indian culture by their own Western developmental assumptions and admit that India possess its own culturally distinctive psychological structures with their own pattern of normality and their own line of soul development and traditional forms of healing. If early psychoanalysts tended to use psychoanalysis as a colonial instrument for retooling Indians into the ninetheenth-centry Europeans, nowadays a new tendency becomes evident - a desire to refashion or reshape psychoanalysis itself in the light of Indian culture. Evidently, awareness of the cultural contexts of the new, comparative psychoanalysis will contribute to increasing the ken and tolerance of this discipline for the range of human variations.

PSIHOTERAPIJSKI TRETMAN ANOREKSIJE NERVOZE U ADOLESCENTNOJ DOBI

Author(s): Vildana Aziraj-Smajić / Language(s): Bosnian Issue: 8/2016

Eating disorders in adolescence are a serious public health problem, because their treatment is lengthy, complex and demanding, while the outcome is most frequently uncertain. The objective of this paper is to provide a short review of the current findings about the application and effectiveness of psychotherapeutic treatment of adolescents diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. Before treatment is implemented, it is necessary to carry out a psychodiagnostic personality assessment of adolescents with the purpose of determining a dominant psychopathology. It has been established that the most frequently used methods in the treatment of this disorder are cognitive-behavioural, dialecticbehavioural, family, psychodynamic, cognitive-analytic and group psychotherapy. The essence of all therapeutic approaches is primarily reflected in the changing of self-destructive behaviours which put life at risk. Considerable somatic complications demand active cooperation of psychotherapists with endocrinologists, internists and nutritionists. In accordance with their theoretical orientations, all psychotherapeutic treatments include specific mechanisms of change (cognitive restructuring, changes in interpersonal relationships, etc) which are determined in relation to the set therapeutic objectives. In certain cases it was established that psychotherapy can help alleviate and reduce the symptoms of comorbid disorders, with the symptomatology of the primary diagnosis of anorexia nervosa keeping its base. A majority of the current studies prove the effectiveness of family psychotherapy in treatment of anorexia nervosa in the adolescent age.

Author(s): Volkan Erol / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 3/2017

Fear, an inseparable part of humanity, manifests itself in art and literature as a reflection of subconscious, also occupies cinema since its beginning. Images that reflected from gigantic screens in the darkness of movie theaters, manage to revive collective fears simultaneously unlike any other medium. Horror, thriller and suspense films, which use subconscious fears as a source and more often than not, prefer to use metaphors while narrate them, prepare the ground for psychoanalytic film analysis, also in time, more and more directors tend to use psychoanalysis in their films. Especially Alfred Hitchcock, master of suspense, known for his use of Freudian subtexts. Steven Spielberg is one of the most important directors who is influenced by Hitchcock. In this paper, Duel, directed by Steven Spielberg in 1971, will be studied; conventions and codes of thriller movies will be analyzed along with a psychoanalytic reading. Correlation between its narration and subtext and their consistency will be examined.
