Wolność, władza i wspólnota w świetle nauczania II Soboru Watykańskiego

The author assumes that the power and freedom aren’t often well understood, and thus they cannot perform the appropriate functions and suitably shape human life in the community. The author proposes therefore reflection on issues referring to freedom and power in the teaching of the Second Vatican Council. The teaching is the basis of a proper understanding of sacra potest as that is an indispensable part of the saving mission of the Church, which is addressed to the human. The author believes however, that the indications formulated in the teaching of the Council could greatly enrich today’s view on the power and the ways of governing in the politics.

Pastoralne implikacje encykliki Jana Pawła II Sollicitudo rei socialis

The canonization of Pope John Paul II constitutes a really great opportunity to rediscover the value of papal social thought. In this article, the author deals with the question of pastoral implications in the encyclical Sollicitudo rei socialis issued in 1987. The first part discusses the origins and socio – political context of the papal document. The second part presents the main ideas contained in the encyclical. The author analyses the range of problems present in the modern world, shows the integral understanding of human development and indicates the relationship between solidarity and peace. In the third and final part of the article, the author emphasizes the relevance of various aspects of the message contained in the encyclical and formulates particular indications for pastoral work. He draws attention to the necessity to enhance the social aspect of the Eucharist and the need to instil in believers attitudes of solidarity and responsibility for full human development, both on the individual and community level.

Francis starting from the personal experience of social and political unrest, wanted and wished all “real peace of heaven”. He attached great importance to the greeting he had used himself and as well as his brothers: “May the Lord give you a peace”. The fraternity which has raised around him, he used to see in perspective of peace mission. Thus he encouraged his brothers to behave peace and to carry it to others. It should be their attitude during all forms of evangelization. External testimony of an attitude of peace towards others should flow from the inner peace of the heart. The attitude of inner and outer peace is on the one hand to follow Jesus, on the other opening to the spiritual gift of peace. In his peace mission Francis paid particular attention to the prudence and gentleness in the relationship and dialogue with others. He saw his mission as a share in the work of God, to which refer his all life experiences. To follow peace above all was for him a spiritual experience and an opportunity to meet God. He knew that God makes a man able to love and mercy, without which there is no peace.

Problematyka polityczna w kazaniu

The article deals with political issues in preaching, especially when delivered independently of the liturgical context, as for instance, during the retreats or religious meetings with popular devotion. Liturgical preaching is mistagogical and its subject depends very much on liturgical readings. That is why the preacher is somehow limited in choosing a subject for homilies. In circumstances other than the liturgy, the preacher has much more freedom in choosing a subject. The question, then, is to what extent the preacher might engage with political issues. This depends on an understanding and definition of both preaching and politics. It is necessary then to be precise not only with the definition of the sermon, but also the definition of politics. The history of preaching is filled with sermons dealing with political issues. Some of them are presented in the article. Then a different kind of so-called “political sermons” are mentioned. Later in the article the author presents the initial conditions required for the preparation and delivery of political problems in preaching. The final part of the article points out the political context of preaching. The article finishes with some conclusions.

Deyrussultan (Deir el Sultan/Deir es Sultan) where a conflict between Abyssinians and Copts occurred is located in this pause. Deyrussultan is composed of small reclusion places. The matter of Deyrussultan, an interesting and severe struggle between Abyssinians and Copts can be comprehended by analyzing its historical depths. As it can be seen in this study a satisfactory solution for the matter of Deyrussultan Monastery for both parties cannot be found.

Mirajul Unirii Religioase (I). Nunțiul Pacelli și un proiect german despre Unirea cu Roma a Ortodoxiei românești în anul 1918

The present study discusses a theme not at all evaluated in the Romanian historiography: a German project to achieve the religious union of Romanians and Bulgarians of Orthodox religion with Rome. The project, advanced by Chancellor von Hertling, involved the acceptance of the Holy See for the realization of the religious union with the help of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bucharest, Raymund Netzhammer and the Bulgarian King Ferdinand I. Seen in a political key, the religious union of the Romanians and Bulgarians was also, for the authorities in Berlin, a mean of opposing the advance of the Bolshevik revolution. The mediator between the authorities of the Second Reich and the Holy See was Eugenio Pacelli, the Apostolic Nuncio in Munich, the future Pope Pius XII.

Aspecte privind viața religioasă a comunităților aromâne de la sud de Dunăre la începutul secolului XX

The paper analyses the way Greek nationalism changed Aromanians identity over the last century. Regarding this issue, I focus on how Megali Ideea (in fact, the Greek national project) was constructed in nineteenth century and how Hellenism influenced the ethnic perception of the Balkan Romanity. Hellenism designates a set of values belonging to a historical community, not only in its ancient manifestation, but also in the Greek-Roman expression, a synthesis of the Byzantine heritage and the grandeur of classical Hellas (Elade). The Ecumenical Patriarchate through the clergy had a profound role in establishing the sense of Greek identity and transmitting these new values.

Media in Shaping Knowledge about the Secular State

This article undertakes the issue of the sources from which we obtain our knowledge and shape our opinions on the topic of the secular state. Based on a questionnaire survey on a representative group of Poles, I point to the constitutive role of the media in this process. However, I specify that the preferred sources of information are first of all television and then the Internet. Next, I translate the results of the quantitative analysis onto Neuberger’s (1999) approach to the Church-state relationship. As a result, I point out that the opinions of the respondents are located in the endorsed Church space. At the same time, I argue that in this type of approach to Church-state relations, respondents more often perceive the pressure of the Catholic Church in relation to state authority than vice versa.

States substantially shape their geopolitical positions, power, and security policies through their geopolitical positions, geopolitical imagery, geopolitical codes and the rhetoric and build their national identities and foreign policies on the basis of their geographical locations. Strategic depth and hinterlands motivate states to become revisionist or compel them to become a status quo player. From the perspective of Iran, Shi’a Islam is the basic reference of geopolitical codes and the factor which forces Iran to pursue proactive policy in all geographical areas where the Shiites exist. The construction of Shia identity is the source of Iranian power and the Shi’a geopolitics is the basis of its security. The article is analyzing the concepts of power and security by examining the intensive effect of realism and constructivism in Iranian foreign policy.

Saruhanoğullari’na Dair Araştirmalar

The dissappearence of the Turkey Seljuk State’s central aurthority led to the emergence of many political structures called “beylik”. Saruhanogullari within these principalities established by Saruhan Bey, Manisa being its capital, have played an important role in the adoptation of Turkish-Islamic culture in their field of dominance. They decorated their cities with the Turkish-Islamic artifacts and they, as every political formation, established various relationships with other political formations in their surroundings. Our study aims to provide information about contemporary sources that found records about the Saruhanogullari principality. The contents of the studies on Saruhanogullari from the early 20th century to the present day will be briefly explained through a quantitative asessment. Studies which are the basis of our assessment will be the ones which are directly related to Saruhanogullari. As a result, our article will try to determine the general the status of the main sources in the studies and distribution of studies according to the years and the reason of this distribution and the focal points of these studies.

Laiklik Bağlamında İlahiyat Öğrencilerinin Diyanet’in Varlığına Yönelik Yaklaşımları

Throughout the history of the Turkish Republic a controversial instution the Directorate of Religious Affairs has been one of the main points of criticism that makes this instution a controversial one, is that there has been an ambiguous secularity in Turkey. Because the secular new republics that are building the foundation is an organization substitutes obliged with one hand religious state, on the other hand removes the actual structure of Presidency of Religious Affairs under the President of the name to enlighten society on religion and to manage places of worship duty. In this embodiment, the Turkish community later involved in the socio-cultural life of the concept of secularism has kept the focus of controversy in the early years of the republic to the present day. Approach to dealing with the religious and secular theology students from a cross-section of this article, are discussed with a phenomenological viewpoint. However, the problem of representation in the Alevism Religious led to criticism of the existence of religious and abstraction from the Religious of the state administration, the debate has been evaluated in terms of the transfer demilitarize communities. The main data sources for the study consists of interviews with theology students.

Праблемы гістарыяграфіі Евангельскіх хрысціян-баптыстаў: традыцыі перыяду БССР

The article discusses the main problems of the Soviet historiography of Evangelical Christian Baptists (ECB). State control, methodological and thematic constraints resulted in biased image of ECB in the Soviet society. Applied sociological and religious studies, which were part of religious policy and formed the image of believers in the official discourse, dominated in the research on this subject. Soviet historiography presents not only a source of studying state-religion relations, it contains a wealth of factual material on the activities of ECB in BSSR. Besides, the analysis of Soviet era research helps to get rid of many stereotypes and constraints in the formation of the modern Belarusian historiography.

Occident versus Orient

This paper will discuss oppositions between West and East as well as the discontinued dialogue between the two civilizations, particularly after the latest terrorist actions. The logic of stereotype thinking of both sides contributes to this gap widening: Edward Said’s story on “western colonialism” and conscious western manipulation with the picture of oriental world” as well as Peter Bernard Louis’ consideration that non-existence of “functional democracy” in Islamic society to these days is not incidental The image of the Other in this context by adding negative accusing tones hastily turns into image of the enemy. Such proclamation is a dangerous social occurrence leading the mass to believe that the others are really hostile. In fact this concerns erroneous image about the Others, perverse reaction of separate trends in Islamic world over Western world as well as such terrors that Western “democracy” imposes over Islamic world. The dialogue between cultures might be possible if Basam Tibi’s massage is heard, that is, “Islam must recognize secular values of Western modernity”, but the “West must acknowledge equality between religions”. However, this is not sufficient to avoid the new type of terrorist war between “crusaders” from Occident and “jihaders” from Orient. Their conflicts are unavoidably connected with the process of globalisation and Hard and Negri’s concept of a new Empire.
