The aim of this research is to answer the question how the American think tank experts on the Middle East and US foreign policy towards the Middle East perceive the region and its construction, with a particular focus on the process of Othering. In order to achieve this aim, the article presents the theoretical explanations of the Othering. In the empirical part, the results of semi-structured interviews with the experts are analyzed and presented. The interviews revealed three angles of how the Middle East is perceived. These angles are the geographical location of the Middle East, the securitization of the Middle East and the universal superiority of the United States. The main finding of the research is that the perception of the Middle East is connected with the self perception or the question of “What is the United States of America?”

The Eastern Partnership region is currently going through a process of institutional formation and consolidation in which promoting public ethics can play a major role in the legitimacy of its administration and attracting foreign investors. Through various datasets, we explore here the level of corruption in the region, as well as the measures that could be employed to counter it. The first section aims at assembling the conceptual references of corruption. Secondly, the analysis turns to the manifestation forms and the assessment of the extent of the phenomenon. Finally, this paper looks at the potential remedies. In this section, the paper also deals with some of the anti-corruption approaches, as we assess preventive and corrective measures, and discuss the potential contribution of adopting international benchmarks of ethical behaviour in the public sector, such as the ISO 37001 Anti-bribery Management Systems.

Objective: The aim of the article is to recognize the scientific identity of comparative international entrepreneurship (CIE) and to review the literature on this problem in the perspective of international entrepreneurship (IE). Research Design & Methods: The applied research method is the analysis of theoretical and empirical articles on comparative international entrepreneurship published in the years 1989-2018. On this basis, the Author formulates propositions of problems suitable for the scientific exploration in the future in the stream of comparative research. Findings: Comparative international entrepreneurship is one of three research domains of international entrepreneurship. We can identify here a few important problems for future research, which concern institutional and cultural conditionings of entrepreneurship, the operationalisation of entrepreneurship and the assessment of the effects of entrepreneurship for the economic growth and development. Implications & Recommendations: It is recommended to conduct theoretical and empirical in-depth research into international entrepreneurship in the comparative approach. It is of great cognitive importance for the development of the discipline and of utilitarian importance both for entrepreneurs – the micro level and economic decision-makers – the macro level. Contribution & Value Added: The article fills a research gap related to the conceptual embedment of comparative international entrepreneurship and is one of the first articles to review the literature concerning this problem.

On the basis of the protocol of the General Council, the minutes of the congresses, Marx's and Engels's correspondence, and the literature, the author in detail discusses the development of the standpoints of the 1st International considering the national, colonial and war questions, thus with particular care illuminating Marx's and Engels's tactical conception of those problems. The paper consists of four extensive chapters. In the introductory chapter, »Marx's Conception of the 1st International and the Internal and External Situation«, the author expounds, in what domestic international political circumstances Marx laid down the revolutionary tactics i-i International. By livening up the 1st International, as an instrument-to consolidate the international labour movement, Marx was aiming at a wholly clear object: basically, he had in view, through the political victory of proletarian democracy in all leading countries, to change the economic situation of the working-class He deemed the relations between the French and the British labour movements highly instrumental to the fate of the revolution foreseen by him. After discussing the revolutionary prospects, in the 2nd chapter — »The Foundation of the 1st International and the Polish Question« — the writer elucidates the mutual relations between the British and the French labour movements, which nad shown the necessity of closer ties among the workers. Eventually, these contacts lead to the meeting in St Martin's Hall, 28th September 1864, where the historic 1st International was called into existence.

A fundamental transformation of the Polish-Russian relationship occurred in the second half of the 17th century. The war begun in 1654 ended in 1667 with the Truce of Andrusovo, when the palatinates of Smolensk, Chernihiv and the Left-Bank Ukraine were ceded to Moscow. Andrusovo represented a major turning point in the Polish-Russian relationship. Not only did the Commonwealth irretrievably lose its eastern lands, but the outcome confirmed the Russian ascendancy in the field of bilateral relations. The danger from the Ottoman Empire and the Crimean Khanate to Central and Eastern Europe led to Russia becoming a major member of the anti-Turkish coalition. The issue of an alliance with Russia against Turkey became of particular relevance during the reign of John III Sobieski.

After the declaration of monarchy the westernizing process continued at the same pace. New laws were added to the legal corps of Albanian legislation, aiming at strengthening the national identity of the state institutions. In service of this policy were also the secularism and the reduction of the role of religion in public life. In the wake of these reforms was approved the decree of 9 July 1929 on religious communities, which contained provisions that enabled them to acquire legal entity status and to draft their statutes or regulations in accordance with the Constitution and the Civil Code. The decree guaranteed freedom of religious communities starting with from the recognition of freedom of conscience and religion of the individual. Approval of statutes compiled by the communities would be made by the government. They entered into force after the decree by the King. Priests were forbidden from participating in political life. Important aspects were articles defining the rights of the state on religious beliefs and on their officials, who also were subject to state control. While Muslims, Orthodox and Bektashi gathered their conventions to prepare statutes and regulations according to the law, Catholic Church refused to take such a step. Given the specific weight percentage of the Catholic population, it could not have strong enough influence to breach political agreement of the government with the religious beliefs. Giovani Cimbalo rightly emphasizes the strength and importance of the Catholic element pertained to international relations, by implying Europe’s sensitivity for it. With the approval of the statute, Catholic Church could not give its institution a national character. This is according to universal laws of Christian doctrine was something unacceptable. Therefore, this problem created a gap in the relations between Albania and the Vatican.

Dugin. Part 1 shows the Soviet Union as an important stage in Russia’s historic mission. Part 2 presents the main elements of Marxist ideology implemented in post-revolutionary Russia which stand in contradiction to the ‘Russian logos’ and, consequently, to Russia’s civilisational mission, and which indicate the internal weakness of Marxism as an ideological foundation of the USSR.
