Historia Slavorum Occidentis

Historia Slavorum Occidentis

Historia Slavorum Occidentis

Frequency: 4 issues / Country: Poland

Originally, the individuals who are behind establishing the new journal thought of a publication revolving around the history of Poland and the Czech Republic. The formula will be extended though, not only to the other Western Slavs (Slovakians, Lusatian Serbs) as well as the areas occupied by Lithuania, Western Ukraine, Hungary, Austria and Germany where back in the 19th century, emphasis was placed on Central European issues.

The journal has many goals, among them demonstrating how much in common the nations and states of Central Europe have and that their history was accompanied not only by wars but also peaceful coexistence, exchange of thoughts, ideas, to some extent a shared economic history. While today multi-culture is an extremely fashionable notion, there is hardly any other region in Europe whose history would have an equally “multi-cultural” background. It is worth reminding, writing and discussing; myth and stereotypes should be debunked andbridges of agreement built.

The role of the Historia SlavorumnOccidentis journal is to serve as a platform for discussions of Central Europe, presenting the research results, inspiring and setting new directions. We will show interest in original works presenting the history of the region, the relations between the local political entities, contacts with the neighbours as well as an entire range of social, economic and cultural issues together with historiographical issues as discussed by historians, archaeologists, art and culture historians. This will be topped with suggested interdisciplinary approaches, without chronological limitations. The journal is open to reviews, discussions and reports as well as disputes and discussions. At the same time our intention is to provide information about planned conferences, conventions, exhibitions and other scholarly events on Central Europe.

Intercultural Education

Intercultural Education

Edukacja Międzykulturowa

Frequency: 4 issues / Country: Poland

The idea of publishing 'Intercultural Education' results from gradual crystallization of intercultural education as one of major new subdisciplines of contemporary world pedagogy as well as from its dynamic development in Poland over the last three decades. This development has been significantly enhanced by the processes of European integration and the activity of Polish educationalists.

In the years 2012-2016 – annual, in 2017-2021 – semiannual and since 2022 – quarterly journal refers to the tradition of the publishing series 'Intercultural Education', which has been issued by the University of Silesia in Katowice at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Science in Cieszyn since 1992 and which currently comprises 91 volumes. The issues explored in the journal are presented in interpretations characteristic of pedagogy, psychology, sociology, philosophy, linguistics, theology, cultural studies, history (and other disciplines of broadly treated humanities). Methodological studies head for improving both research methodology and the ways of interpreting research results. Therefore, the periodical constitutes a scientific forum which facilitates the development of pedagogical disciplines and popularization of intercultural education. This enables pedagogy experts and the representatives of other sciences to share their achievements, to enter broader cooperation and to exchange experience.

The journal aims at promoting the scientific output of Polish pedagogy and popularization of its achievements internationally.

The New Educational Review

Frequency: 4 issues / Country: Poland

The New Educational Review is a journal that has been founded by the faculties of education from the following universities: University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland), Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovak Republic) and University of Ostrava (Czech Republic). The deans and vice-deans of the pedagogical faculties of the universities mentioned above create associate Editors board. The main seat of editorial board is placed at the Faculty of Education and Psychology in University of Silesia in Poland.

In our opinion, a creation of the new international journal is an important initiative, because at present in the Central European countries such a periodical does not exist. The New Educational Review is a continuation of an idea of Professor Bogdan Suchodolski, who directed the international editorial board of the year-journal Paideia. It was edited by the Committee for Educational Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the period 1972 – 1994 in English, French and Russian. Two years after the Professor Suchodolski’s death the journal disappeared from the publishing market.

Krakowskie Studia Małopolskie

Frequency: 4 issues / Country: Poland

Krakowskie Studia Małopolskie powołane w 1997 r. jako pismo naukowe o charakterze interdyscyplinarnym, szybko znalazły uznanie w różnych środowiskach naukowych Polski. Współpracę nawiązali z nami zarówno naukowcy o poważnym dorobku naukowym jak i dopiero zaczynający swoją przygodę. Struktura i tematyka badawcza Krakowskich Studiów Małopolskich zakreślona na początku działalności przez Radę Naukową funkcjonowała do chwili obecnej. Zamieszczane artykuły i materiały poruszały problemy związane z historią, kierunkami i wyzwaniami współczesnej ekonomii i gospodarki, zagadnieniami rozwoju wsi i rolnictwa oraz oświatą i szkolnictwem.

Copernicus. Czasy Nowożytne i Współczesne

Frequency: 1 issues / Country: Poland

Rocznik „Copernicus.

Dużą wagę przywiązujemy do poziomu merytorycznego publikowanych materiałów, stąd każdy nadesłany tekst przechodzi najpierw procedurę wewnętrznego recenzowania.
