Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at outlining the status and position of the Hungarian translators and interpreters in Romania, with a special regard to the legal framework and the state of training of young professionals. It also addresses the issues that can be outlined regarding the process of authorization. The study also discusses why interpreters of Hungarian are much more likely to be born in Romania, and not made, a factor that hinders the professionalization of Hungarian interpreters in Romania.
