Summary/Abstract: The competitiveness of institutional mechanisms for monitoring and controlling anti-corruption policies in Bulgaria is a key factor for effective governance and public trust. The country’s anticorruption system includes various institutions and legal instruments aimed at preventing, investigating, and sanctioning corruption practices. Despite progress, the system faces challenges such as weak institutional coordination, limited transparency, and insufficient capacity. Improving integration among control mechanisms, enhancing the legal framework, and strengthening cooperation between state authorities, the European Union, and civil society are essential. Effective monitoring and accountability tools are needed to ensure real prevention and sustainability of results. The future development of Bulgaria’s anti-corruption system depends on its ability to adopt good international practices, reinforce institutional independence, and increase public confidence through transparency and responsibility. This will contribute to greater competitiveness and long-term stability in public governance.
