Summary/Abstract: The article examines the creative path of one of the outstanding, yet silenced during the Soviet era, representatives of Ukrainian literature at the time of its flourishing (1920s). It highlights the currently known facts of O. Burghardt’s biography and cites fragments of his published works. Two periods of his creative activity are distinguished – in Ukraine and in Germany. The role of Burghardt as a poet of the Ukrainian emigration, as well as a Ukrainian and German translator, is revealed.
