Summary/Abstract: This article examines the issue of the initiation and examination of civil actions for the collection of child maintenance, the latter being a logical reflection of the guarantee and respect for the fundamental rights and interests of the child through the direct participation of the state in this matter. The article analyzes the particularities of the judicial procedures for the collection of maintenance and highlights their advantages and disadvantages, taking into account the social-economic, political and legislative factors in the Republic of Moldova. Following the elucidation of the practical aspects, as well as the comparative analysis of the legislation of other countries in the field, the research reveals the imperfections of the legal norms.
