Summary/Abstract: The first poetry book by the Bulgarian poet Yordan Palezhev – Sunny Slit – had been presented to a publishing house in 1972, but it was published 15 years later, in 1987 – in a very different cultural-historical and literary context, which prevented its timely and in-depth reception, and this resulted in the subsequent exclusion of the book from the Bulgarian literary-historical narratives. The marginalization of the poet’s work is studied from three perspectives – the ideological “sins” of the author that lead to a belated debut, the critical reception of his poetry, and the poetic contexts of the poetry book.
