Summary/Abstract: The object of this paper is Spanish accentology in a contrastive study with Bulgarian word stress and sentence stress. The subject of this article are the universal, typological and specific characteristics of the Spanish accentema and their expression in the interlanguage of Bulgarians who are acquiring Spanish as a second and foreign language (SFL). The purpose of this work is to identify the deviations from Spanish orthoepic norms, manifested as a xenolect and prosodic interference in the pronunciation of Bulgarian learners, and to propose a theoretical model for the assessment of their errors (deviations from the language system) and mistakes (occasional deviations) in the course of Corrective Phonetics. The conclusions confirm the universal and the specific trends in the acquisition of prosodic systems of natural languages.
