Summary/Abstract: This article reviews the most important features of stress in Spanish through the analysis of its main lexical patterns and its realization in the nominal and verbal paradigms, as well as at the phonosyntactic and lexical-semantic levels for the purpose of language learning. The purpose of this description is to serve as a basis to master the peculiarities of Spanish prosody and to anticipate the typicalerrors in the realization of word stress in the production of Bulgarian learners at different levels of language and speech. The systematization of the relevant features of Spanish stress system has been carried out in accordance with contemporary trends in this field.
