Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the prospects for developing key competences through intersubject links in Bulgarian learning. The topic is interpreted in the context of the competence approach in modern language learning. The focusing of modern education towards competence formation is a natural consequence of the development of science and social relations in recent decades. The changed sociocultural context of education requires the introduction of new educational technologies and learning practices. Dynamically ongoing globalization processes set new requirements for the modern school as a theory and practice of learning. The article interprets the importance attached by the curriculum to activities and intersubject links for the development of key competences. The importance of intersubject connections to stimulate creative potential, critical thinking and research skills is considered.
