Summary/Abstract: This study aims to research the genesis and communication aspects transmedia political image of Vladimir Putin in the first year of the Russian invasion of Ukraine (24.02.2022 - 24.02.2023) through the key messages sent by his official website in the specified period. The main research task of the study is to analyse the historical, geopolitical, and sociocultural prerequisites for the formation of the wartime political image of Vladimir Putin. The methods for processing and interpreting the data include detailed information research, documentary research, monitoring, processing of empirical data, comparative analysis of the data obtained, synthesis, and generalization. The results show that cultural and historical interrelationships, the political role of the presidential institution, and the characteristics of the media ecosystem in Russia predetermine the starting positions of Vladimir Putin’s political wartime image, which reflects both the personal characteristics of the president and popular attitudes in Russian society.
