Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an analysis of the insufficiently treated topic related to the relationship between the Yugoslav communists and the noncommunist (non-Stalinist, socialist and social democratic) left in Western Europe during the first half of the 1950s, a period when Yugoslavia made strong efforts to break out of its foreign policy isolation and seek its place in the international Cold War order. The relations of Yugoslav communists with the Western European non-communist left represented a complex ideological challenge within the overall cooperation of a socialist country like Yugoslavia with Western capitalist countries.
