Summary/Abstract: One of the adverse events in the process of providing medical services is the untimely delivery of care and the lack of continuity of care. This phenomenon may relate to difficulties inaccessing doctors or difficulties related to the purchase of medicines. Most often, they result from specific disruptions in the supply chain of medical services, and one of such factors is the effects of the pandemic related to the suspended supply of active substances (e.g., from India) or the lack of access to primary care physicians. As a result, these disruptions also lead to financial losses, increasing health debt, and the need to remodel the pharmaceutical supply chain in Poland to become independent of foreign suppliers. In addition, adverse reactions require more resources that need to be secured and delivered to the right place. This requires the organisation of additional supply chains, and often at a fast pace, which multiplies costs, as well as affects patient safety, which is strongly endangered. One of the solutions supporting the elimination of selected disruptions in the process of providing medical services from the perspective of the supply chain are solutions in the field of telemedicine and digitisation of processes in healthcare.
