Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work is to evaluate efficiency of the selected merger, hostile takeover and strategic alliance measures, which were realised in food sector, including determinants, which had an influence on their result. As case studies were used: Atlanta Poland S.A. and Bakalland S.A. merger, Cadbury Plc. hostile takeover by Kraft Foods Group Inc. and strategic alliance of Tesco Polska Sp. z o. o. and Meritum Bank ICB S.A. The factor, which mostly determined failure of the first transaction, was finding an appropriate candidate to this operation and its careful estimation. In case of the second transaction, the main factor, which led to realise this operation, was management efficiency and its constant motivating. The third transaction showed that the most important factor, which determined success of this operation, was complementarity of partners’ knowledge and skills.
