Summary/Abstract: Pedagogues work in elementary school is a very complicated and complex. The standardization and evaluation of the work of pedagogues are very current and acute issues in the education system. The Reform of education, especially transition to elementary schools that last nine years, and with the induction of an external maturity the work of pedagogues has gained new tasks. Disharmony between the theory and the legislation on one side, and what is really going on in practice, on the other side, demands a review of both, the existing standards and the evaluation the work of a pedagogue.The aim of the research we conducted was to examine the tasks and descriptions of pedagogical work in elementary school and whether they are well-standardized by appropriate legal acts. Our research included 28 elementary school pedagogues, 62 teachers of the classroom, and 27 primary school principals – all from Sarajevo Canton.The results show that the change in evaluation of the work of pedagogues in elementary school has to be done as soon as possible.
