Summary/Abstract: Lately, we are witnessing numerous changes in the educational system, which are largely conditioned by the development of information and communication technologies, their integration into the teaching process, the emergence of many innovative approaches and strategies based on reflection on improving the quality of teaching that will lead to its efficiency, as well as changes in the way of thinking and learning of today's students. Noting the fact that at any moment, at the fingertips, an unlimited number of diverse data from different fields is at hand, and that it is imperative to teach pupils how to find, select, and ultimately use these data, learning at a completely new and different way,we become aware 499that we gradually go beyond the traditional teaching, on the basis of which we store and reproduce content and its essential characteristics as well as the frontal teaching style, and open the door to new approaches in learning and teaching. In our research, through a theoretical and research approach, we are trying to explain how the student's paper, as a form of independent and individual work of students, meets the requirements of contemporary teaching to work on the development of practical and expressive abilities, as well as the formation of competent and motivated young people who have the ability of an independent learning and applying acquired knowledge,and to indicate which ways it is possible to motivate students for active participation, creative and creative expression in the work of teaching and at home. The research included students of the fifth grade primary school elementary school in the Nature course, who worked on the report from the field of the Animal Life. Students were graded on the basis of pre-determined and explained criteria, and they filled in the questionnaire in order to obtain the requested data, which confirm the value and significance of the student's teaching in teaching.
