MODERN APPROACHES AND INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES IN THE CREATION FOR ACCORDION DE PROFUNDIS BY SOFIA GUBAIDULINA

Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to one of the most important academic works for accordion, written in the 20th century –“De Profundis” by Sofia Gubaidulina, a composer that deeply marked the contemporary academic music. The author presented some biographical marks and the most important stages of her life and creation. He analyzed “De Profundis”, remarkable for the innovative approaches of Sofia Gubaidulina that offers a new conception of accordion sonority, discovering new expression possibilities of this instrument, using new performing techniques and placing it on a peer level with other academic musical instruments. Thus, the accordion becomes one the most interesting and perspective musical instruments in contemporary music. In this process, the famous performer Friedrich Lips had an essential role, collaborating with the composer.
