PSALM 50 FOR MIXED CHOIR, DECLAMATOR AND PERCUSSION BY VLAD BURLEA: BETWEEN SACRED AND PROFANE

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a new creation signed by Vlad Burlea: Psalm 50 (choral impressions) (2024). The work was performed for the first time at a Festival in Poland, by the Gloria Choir conducted by Valeria Diaconu. Known for his predilection for approaching sources with fundamental meanings for the contemporary spirituality, the composer took over the entire text of Psalm 50, in the analyzed creation, which represents not only a reaffirmation of his firm anchoring in everything that Orthodox spirituality means, but also a plenary expression, in a complex compositional language, of his artistic personality, which is today in full creative maturity.
