Advice and counseling in the communicative space. Research questions and postulates

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is an attempt to contrast questions, observations and postulates that are connected with the characteristic of advice and counselling – two similar speech genres. The author concentrates on, among others, the following issues: – academic perspectives of giving advice/counseling researched so far; – a linguistic (semantic and/or genological ) definition of advice/counseling; – similarities and differences between advice and counseling from a model point of view; – linguistic manifestations of giving advice and counseling; – ad vice and counseling in communicative practice (everyday communication, book, press, radio and television, Internet).
