Summary/Abstract: The author writes about films depicting the transgression of a human being towards animality. He is particularly interested in human-animal hybrids and in the forbidden interspecies sexual contacts. Although present in cinema, those threads and motifs are a peculiar taboo, indeed not too often transgressed by filmmakers. As it appears, however, these themes may, among other things, problematize some of the fundamental issues of human existence.
