Empirical analysis of the effectiveness of investment potential in local government units – municipalities in Poland

Summary/Abstract: One of the most important tasks assigned to local authorities − especially municipalities, is supporting the development of infrastructure located on their territory. Infrastructure development is an important element in improving the competitiveness of the local government as a place to live and do business. The aim of the present study is to analyze the efficiency of investment potential of municipalities presented in the synthetic form of the surplus of budget revenues over current expenditures in stimulating the growth of technical infrastructure. The analysis includes the entire population of municipalities in Poland.
