Summary/Abstract: One of the most important tasks local authorities in particular municipalities face, is to support business development in their area. The increase of the number of registered businesses is an essential part of improving the competitiveness of the local government as a place to live and do business. The aim of the present study is to analyze the level of development of entrepreneurship in rural areas in Poland in terms of generic and space in the years 2006-2010.The analysis included the entire population of municipalities in Poland.
