Summary/Abstract: In the first part, general theoretical principles of Čučko’s book are analyzed and the author of the present paper states the latter represents the fundamental work of the Slavic diachronic onomastic research. In the second part, the author tries to suggest how to step beyond the actual anthroponymy now existing in Transcarpathian Ukraine toward an earlier anthroponymic system by means of the onomastic theory that has recently been developed in the Slovak onomastics.
