Summary/Abstract: In the article there have been presented concepts of time elaborated by philosophers such as Plotinus, St. Augustine, Xenofanes, Heraclitus, Democritus, Platon, Aristotle, Newton, Hegel, Bergson, Husserl, Heidegger, Nietzsche and others. In context of sociological analysis there have been taken into consideration approaches of Marks, Weber, Durkheim, Mead and Schutz. Thanks to the analysis of the contemporary transformations of the approach to time and its social forms, the issues such as commodification, compression, colonization and breaking of the continuity of time have been enhanced. There is a clear relationship between morality and the attitude to time, to the time management and its valuation and to treating time as the regulator of the self-activity. The attitude to time as well as the effort to free oneself from its determining influence, is being changed together with the transformations of the conditions of life of the society.
