The economic development of Gračanica from 1995 to 2018 – a brief overview

Summary/Abstract: This article presents a historical retrospective of the economic development of the Gračanica municipality/city, from the end of the war in 1995 to most recent times, with a special emphasis on 2018. The first part deals with the tradition of entrepreneurship and the “survival” of economic entities during the war for Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992 – 1995). The main issue (the post-war economic development of Gračanica) is structured chronologically, in two parts: the first is identified as the period of reconstruction, 1995 – 2001, and the second of accelerated development from 2001 to 2018, with a special emphasis on 2018. This article is written on the basis of official materials of the local community which house an extensive amount of statistic that is not processed or ordered, and which in itself does not provide an opportunity for better comparisons and conclusions. That is why this article should be seen as a historical retrospective (or data) and not as an economic analysis or study.
