Summary/Abstract: The present article is an attempt to outline the range and forms of mutual influence of Russian language and other languages of the nations of the Soviet Union. Investigations on the mutual influence of languages or language interference occupy an import ant place in linguistics. In the Soviet linguistics these problems are still more topical since as a result of radical social and political changes and cultural changes new social, political and cultural relations were formed among the peoples of the Soviet Union and the consequence of this are the incessant, intensive mutual influences of languages of peoples inhabiting the USSR. After the revolution the harmonious connection between the languages of particular peoples and the language used by all of them, i.e. Russian arose in the USSR. Mutual contacts between various nationalities of the USSR are made possible through their harmonious bilingualism. Mutual impact of Russian and languages of other nations of the USSR created new features of lexical, terminological, word-formational, syntactic and even mutual means of artistic expression community. However, this does not at all restrict the specificity and originality of languages of particular nations. The question of bilingualism was also touched upon in the article. The most wide spread form of bilingualism in the USSR is the one in which Russian is the second language. The role and significance of the Russian language as the one used among various nationalities is donsidered by the author from the historical point of view.
