Summary/Abstract: Resentful opportunism, as a last resort, was practiced in Bolshevik Russia by many renegades. In the case of the “gregarious” opportunity, the clergy renounced their faith, declaring themselves atheists in public assemblies, and being advertised in the press. There were also clerics from the category of “renewers”, considered dialogue partners by the Bolshevik power. As an example of “subtle” opportunism, the author refers to Aleksandr Vvedenski, a former clergyman.
