Adlerian dream analysis in past and present

Summary/Abstract: The thesis gives a complex look into dream analysis from an adlerian (individual) psychology perspective. It includes results from individual psychology and classic concept of dreaming as interpreted by Alfred Adler. The thesis also describes the current approaches of adlerian psychologists and lays out their basic differences compared to the original concept. Dream analysis is portrayed in the thesis on a specific example. The analysis of lifestyle, dream symbols and a potential way of solving a struggle in an individual’s life is portrayed in this section. The credibility of the adlerian dream analysis theory is covered at the end of the thesis, where we try to focus on the factors that affect this credibility both in a positive or a negative way. The end of the thesis also focuses on basic principles for dream interpretation in this approach.
