Summary/Abstract: The main causes of migration, a phenomenon consisting of temporary or permanent relocation of a person / group from one territory to another, can be multiple: political, economic, military, cultural, environmental and social. Depending on the cause which led to the displacement, migrants can be classified as follows: economic (those who work in the territory of a country without possessing the citizenship of that State), asylum seekers (deployed for various reasons but having not yet received permission to stay in the host country), internal migrants (nomads, seasonal commuters) and, not at least, refugees (asylum seekers who have received permission to stay in the host country). Migration can be legal or illegal. Legal migrants are characterized by a good health; they have higher average education and economic status enabling them to accommodate the first months of relocation or a firm commitment on future employment. Instead, irregular migrants are belonging to various age groups, have health, level of education and economic status random, most often precarious. Therefore, the latter are subjects to recruitment networks of organized crime and terrorism.
