Summary/Abstract: Author is contemplating a conception of a unique encyclopedic Czech work “2 x 101 Books for Children and Youth” which introduces world-wide known authorial works for children and youth through interpretational texts. It investigates axiological standpoint of title selection of Slovakian literature for children and youth with the emphasis on the 20th century. Slovak and Czech literature were, thanks to long-term joint political development of both countries, mutually influenced and both translated a lot therefore their relation is not established only in the linguistic Slavic closeness of both countries within the Central Europe. In conclusion the author is stating that the Czech translation of books like Analfabeta Negramotna is still a great challenge because of their cultural and language differences.
