Summary/Abstract: In the archive of the Zograf Monastery at Mount Athos, which we are researching for some time, we have discovered a documentary treasure. We recently published the regestae of more than two hundred documents from this archive. In addition to these documents, we also discovered an 1839 cartulary, comprising the regestae of the documents from the archive of the Dobrovăț monastery and an inventory of the cult objects from the same monastery. The cartulary consists of 591 regestae and mentions of documents. Of these, 313 documents are related to the monastery’s villages, vineyards and shops, while 278 are referring to the monastery’s gipsy slaves. Together with this cartulary, we are also publishing an inventory from the 23th of April 1839 that listed the cult objects, the manuscripts, the vestments and other liturgical objects from the great church of the Dobrovăț monastery, dedicated to the Descent of the Holy Spirit. Some of these objects had a long history, dating from the days of Stephenthe Great, the founder of the monastery. These documents provide new insights into the history of the Dobrovăț monastery. Moreover, they also add some important information on the history of Moldavia from the 15th to the 19th century: two documents and a manuscript from the time of Stephen the Great, previously unknown, new documents concerning the history of several Moldavian villages, but also regarding the urban history of Jassi and Botoșani. Equally impressive are the documentation on the monastery’s gipsy slaves, the liturgical inventory of the great church of the monastery and the note on the wealth of Ioanichie, an abbot from the first half of the 19th century.
