Intercultural Management – the Case of a University

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays organizations face immense challenges regarding the efficient use of human resources who both culturally and mentally, due to their race or gender, are different to the majority of the members of the organization. The competence and soft skills of the manager are helpful in grasping the values and promoting the acceptance of cultural differences. Among the most important challenges, facing the Polish higher education system, is strong and expansive internationalization, migration processes and the growth of the international community. The process of internationalization is influenced by, apart from the presence of foreign students and the participation of Polish researches in international research projects, in the broad sense, the exchange of knowledge and experience. The building of a strong and independent (both economically and scientifically) position of Poland in Europe becomes efficient thanks to the geographic location of our country, as well as our membership in the European Union. The purpose of this article was to examine the degree of internationalization of a branch campus of a selected private university with a particular focus on students from Ukraine, as well as to assess the influence of the organizational culture in the international environment on the stabilization of social relationships in the workplace and the importance of culture factors on the expansion abroad.
