Summary/Abstract: While building the company potentials and winning markets, entrepreneurs search for diversified opportunities for expanding the company. The decision results from the phase of the enterprise growth, market sector, degree of technological advance as well as skills and managerial competencies among top senior management across the organization. The objective of the paper is to identify the benefits and barriers, from the viewpoint of entrepreneurs as well as scientists, derived from cooperation between mentally contradictory communities. Essentially, the allocation of the funds to the research and development activities within two-year timeframe receives increasing attention. Enterprises perceive the investment as the opportunities for technological progress and innovations as well as enhances competitiveness as compares to EU countries, and increased macroeconomic indicators that measure economic growth. Entrepreneurs collaborating with academic centres tend to be initiators of innovative processes which foster better alignment to requirements and expectations of the market and customer needs.
