Summary/Abstract: In the Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeship the highest unemployment rates have been recorded since the beginning of the political transformation in Poland. In order to mitigate this unfavorable economic and social phenomenon, passive and active labour market policy instruments are being launched. The article presents an assessment of the efficiency of active instruments affecting the supply and demand side of the labour market. The results are an effect of own research including quantitative and qualitative analyzes of programs implemented in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeship between 2005 and 2014. The results recorded in the analyzed period indicate a relatively low efficiency of the implemented programs. The efficiency was expressed in the values of the reemployment rate. In addition, the results authorize to state that there is not always a proportional relationship between the amount of funds directed to the activation of the unemployed and reducing unemployment.
