Summary/Abstract: Territorial self-government is an administrative unit established under the law of a community of people living in a given part of the country, independently implementing activities related to meeting the needs of its residents. Activities implemented by self-governments are legally sanctioned and are subject to control by specific government administration bodies. As regards self-government administration units, the state has only the possibility to supervise local government actions, while the scope of supervision and its forms are limited and strictly defined by law.
