Summary/Abstract: Human trafficking has been increasing steadily in recent years, becoming a national and international problemIn this context, the formulation of coherent policies to prevent and combat human trafficking, a process that encounters a number of difficulties, however, results primarily from ignorance of the actual dimensions of the phenomenon, due to the large mobility, intense movement of persons across borders and goods, and secondly, from obscurity phenomenon ensured by maintaining its manifestations in the context of apparently legal activities.Regionally, the crisis in the Balkans in the last decade has boosted the phenomenon, Romania being cited as the country of origin and transit for large networks trafficking women, especially from Asia, but also from neighboring countries such as Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus, the destination countries of former Yugoslavia (Kosovo region focusing on), as well as Turkey, Greece or the states of Western Europe.
