Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, in the era of the formation of new migration patterns, many Poles make a difficult decision to work abroad. Statistical data clearly show that year by year the number of Polish migrants has been steadily increasing. Many of them are mothers or fathers leaving their families in Poland, and with them the youngest members – children. Parents’ absence can contribute to the family dysfunction in terms of socialization, protective and educational functions, which may result in educational problems manifested by the child in various forms, e.g.: non-acceptance and noncompliance with social norms regulating the behavior in the environment in which the child resides, moreover, improper relationships with family members as well as teachers and peers, which in turn indirectly affect the individual’s social position in the group. Therefore, it seems interesting to ask a question: what sociometric position in the class children experiencing temporary separation from their parents being at the migration occupy. The answer to this question, among others, guided the undertaken research.
