Summary/Abstract: The present article is a reconstitution of the polemics started in the Romanian interwar press by the publication, in the magazine Gândirea, of the article headed ”Manifestul Crinului Alb” [The White Lily Manifesto], an article relevant to the polemics between the young and the old generation of intellectuals from that age. The article presents the responses of certain important authors for the Romanian culture, such as George Călinescu, Șerban Cioculescu, Mihai Ralea, Mihail Polihroniade, et cetera.
