Summary/Abstract: Changes in the number and proportion of agricultural .population in SR Serbia can be divided in to three phases. During the first, from the end of World War Two until 1953, its number had increased slightly, whereas its percentage in the total population had decreased; between 1953 and 1961. the second phase took place, 'during which the percentage decreased as well as the number Of agriculturers; dulling the third phase, from 1961. up to now, the forther decrease of the number of agriculturers has accelerated, so that they are no longer the grester part of the total population.
