Summary/Abstract: The possibilities of introducing new institutions conditioning the overcoming of the current dysfunctions of the global financial market are analysed in the article. First of all the monitoring and regulation institutions proposed by the American Nobel Prize winners were discussed. In turn, the new concept of a global progressive tax on capital by Thomas Piketty is presented. The concept proposed by the French economist is the most radical one and it should be associated with the greatest hopes. However, it’s global scale implementation seems to be extraordinary difficult due to the lack of uniform political will to introduce an automatic, global exchange of information between banks.
