Summary/Abstract: Today, the word "folklore" appoints a big dimension and profoundly important culture. As such, it is manifested in various forms of communication, not always only verbal but also through writing. The idea that folklore reflects only the past, today belongs to the past. Folklore is created continuously, and as such reflects our lives constantly, from past to present. Being a reflection of the spiritual world of the people, it is present where people are: at work, in the countryside, in the street, in the city, online. Urban folklore of the street appears through graffiti - writings on the walls that express a reflection of an individual or group of youth. One of the most widely accepted features of any urban folklore is its reflection of what are considered to be social and individual problems. Digital technology today has further expanded the expressive folklore, opening an additional place for cultural expression. Many people, of all ages, genders and races, regularly interact online, reading, responding, and creating a variety of digital texts, accompanied by photographs. With humorous, mocking or sarcastic meaning, pictures or videos associated with short text, in contemporary folklore are known under the term meme.This paper will discuss these issues: What does written folklore represent? What are the characteristics of the forms of written folklore: graffiti and memes? How are these forms presented in the Albanian urban environment? How much are common memes and graffiti in Albanian various websites such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.? Have memes been accepted and assimilated to our actuality?, etc.The paper will be accompanied by examples from the internet and the terrain, which prove the phenomenon of written folklore in Albanian culture.
