Summary/Abstract: With this work, it is claimed the case system of Albanian language viewed from its historical aspect, which it has passed through. This means that this case system will be contemplated by the support of different thoughts and theories of different researchers related to different issues that come within this system. In this context will be viewed particular issues, such as: the definition of cases, their number, origin, form, formal merging, reduction, formal-functional differentiation, as well as the inter-linguistic impact in one hand, and the heritage of the case system from Indo-European languages or the linguistic development of this system within the Albanian language on the other hand. The case system will be observed within all the nominative system, but with special treatment in nouns, which at once are the essential part of this system as well. The case system of old Albanian language, whether documented or not, will be rendered based on the current case system of Albanian language, through the restoration of former case forms, whether with Indo-European source, or as developments within the proven Albanian language.Initiated from the synchronic aspect, the Albanian language is a language with a case system that is comprised from five cases, two of which are considered as direct (the nominative and accusative case), and three others as indirect (genitive, dative and ablative cases). If spoken about the time since the first written documentation of Albanian language, the case system of that time certainly was not as the current one. This linguistic fact is related with the dynamic character of language and the evolution-development of it through time. Current linguistic state of case system of Albanian language was preceded by another linguistic state with a case system with more cases, inherited by Indo-European language. The ascent of this system until this current state, with all linguistic developments, constitutes the essence of this study.
