Summary/Abstract: This work aims to address the so-called locative case in the first known book of written Albanian so far, which is Gjon Buzuku’s Meshari. Thus, the topic of this work is the use of the so-called locative case in the nominative system of old Albanian that was firstly proven in 1555. This work intends to introduce the use of the locative case in the entire nominative system of Buzuku’s Meshari and to view how this respective case is implemented. The implementation of this case will be given in all nominative parts (into noun, adjective, pronoun, and numeral) on the whole corpus of the research of this work. The formal as well as the semantic and functional aspect of the locative case will be presented by providing the case ending and the other categorical and analytical element (the preposition) which accompanies nominative parts in order to implement this corresponding case. The research background for this work is Buzuku’s Meshari, on the basis of the research book of E. Cabej in two parts: the first part Gjon Buzuku’s Meshari (1555) Critical edition Introduction and transliteration and the second part Facsimile and phonetic transcription (1968). This work will be realized using the method of record analysis, the quantitative method and the qualitative method for the issued records, the method of interpretation of linguistic findings, and in some instances the method of comparison of the corresponding records as well. The expected results for this work will be: the accurate formal representation of the so-called locative case in Meshari’s text, the providing of the characteristic case ending and the version of this ending, the providing of the analytical element that accompanies every nominative part (the noun, adjective, pronoun, and numeral), as well as the function that respective parts of the nominative system of Buzuku’s Albanian fulfill.
