Summary/Abstract: The year 2008 brought some change in the Polish educational system. Since that year, in few secondary schools in Wrocław, a new pedagogical innovation – tutoring has been implemented. This proposal would support the traditional model of upbringing in school by creating conditions for the existence of the individual relationship between teacher-tutor and pupil. So far, tutoring has been implemented in different levels in hundreds of schools in Poland. Its implementation is usually associated with the reorganization of school system and an improvement of quality of pupil–teacher contact. This situation would not have been possible without parents’ knowledge and without their permission. But to what extent will tutoring gain their approval? Will this method brings some benefits which can be valuable for the Polish families? Does the presence of a tutor represent a chance or maybe a threat? Is the tutoring an answer for a school to problems that affect modern families? In the presented article the author hopes to show that the method of tutoring that is implemented in schools is an interesting space to study the relationship between a schooland parents. Her consideration relates to her own research on the development of tutoring in the Polish educational system.
