Summary/Abstract: Mergers and acquisitions are treated as a tool for the development of organizations which face a business risk. The cultural diversity of the transaction partners is one of the factors which influence its level. This problem is particularly visible in international transactions in which partners come from different cultural backgrounds. A cultural adaptation of transaction partners and „a common core identity” are treated as a key success factor in these processes. The problem of cultural differences is especially relevant at the post-transaction stage when actions are taken to integrate the merged companies. The aim of this article is to present the posttransaction integration process in the cultural aspect which was conducted in the acquisition of a Polish company by an Israeli company – the world leader in the production of generic medicines. The study sought answers to the question about the extent of cultural integration of partners and its dynamics.
