Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to craft entrepreneurship. This phenomenon has been presented from a sectoral and microeconomic perspective. Theoretical objective of the article is to define the identity of the craft and to present the concept of research into craft entrepreneurship. The cognitive aim of the article is the diagnosis of attitudes of Polish craftsmen towards emerging problems and challenges, innovations and risks. The article also includes analyzes aimed at identifying factors stimulating and limiting the craft entrepreneurship. In the first part of the article attention was focused on explaining the terms entrepreneurial orientation with respect to a craftsman and a craft business. The next part of the paper presents the process of evolution of the craft structure over the last 26 years. The results of empirical research on entrepreneurial orientation in the craft sector are presented in the last part of the article.
