Summary/Abstract: Skillful management of various types of risks in enterprises is nowadays a condition for their survival. This can also be seen on the example of family businesses, where these risks are related not only to running a business, but also to the specific type of dependency between managers and employees. The purpose of this article is to present the types of risks that occur in family businesses, with particular emphasis on occupational risk, which should also be managed. This article also describes selected traditional methods of occupational risk assessment and shows the advantages and barriers to their use in family businesses. The literature review concerning this type of enterprises were used as sources of data for these analyzes. The considerations in this article have also led to the assessment of occupational risk management opportunities in family businesses, taking into account the specific way they operate.
