Summary/Abstract: Modern logistics processes are increasingly characterized by the dynamic flows of information, by cloud technologies, high level of flexibility and adaptability of material flows, simplicity and individuality in the formation of supply chains, by opportunities of controlling and management of goods delivery directly to the final consumers. A special role in the development of logistics can be assigned to the automotive industry, because this industry annually generates a significant amount of innovations that are continuously transferred to other areas of life. Indisputably, the automotive industry is a kind of a mirror of the national economy and the situation in the global automotive industry is able to highlight directions of development, trends, negative effects, global risks etc. Automotive market covers a number of areas characterized by high dynamism, innovativeness and strong competitive environment. Considering the above, in terms of finding loyal strategic decisions during the planning stage of economic activity, in order to minimize the risks of operating activities during the search and adaptation of innovations, particularly of logistic nature, it is important to understand current trends and key features of the automotive industry.
